Pioneer Brings AirPlay and iPad Air Jam and iControlAV2 to iOS devices


Pioneer’s ASX-1021 is the company first AirPlay compatible AV receiver introduced this year with, according to Pioneer, more to come in the future. The VSX-1021, a 7.1Ch home theater receiver sold at $549 USD in the US will need an additional Pioneer compatible AS-WL300 wireless LAN adapter (sold separately) to allow you to stream Audio from your iPod, iPhone or iPad to your Home Theater system. Also, and available for free on the Apple App Store, Pioneer as introduced two new software enabling you to remotely control your ASX-1021 via your iPad for example with the iControlAV2 as well as allowing to manipulate at will your playlist thanks to Air Jam.

Pioneer had a rather small booth at Ceatec but came with very interesting products including future iPod oriented compact Hi-Fi and other prototypes.

HVT Audio Concept 

HVT stands for “Horizontal-Vertical Transforming” where Pioneer is working on offering the flattest possible set of speakers in order to build-up ultra-slim products like wall-mounted all in one Home Entertainment that will for example (see photo) offer a Flat TV, with Flat 5.1 Virtual Surround speakers and iPod Dock (behind the mirror on the left side of the TV in the picture), or ultra Flat powerful Audio speakers and finally High-end high-quality ultra slim PC speakers.

Pioneer latest iPod Dock 

Introduced in May, Pioneer was showing off some of its latest iPod Dock with Video Support compact Hi-fi with CD player like the XW-NAV1 Series, XW-NAC1 and X-NAS50-S series for example.

Non-contact EV charger 

EVs are the future and Pioneer is working on offering their own “contact-less” solution to charge EV cars on different parking areas.
The process is quite simple; just park your car on top of one of this EV charger and “Voila” you are now charging your car internal battery.

Carrozzeria Smart Cradle in Cooperation with DoCoMo 

Pioneer, in cooperation with NTT DoCoMo, introduced a new product schedule to be ship in March 2011, the Smart Cradle. The idea behind this concept is to enhanced your Mobile phone GPS capabilities with faster and more accurate GPS reading as well as providing to its owner, thanks to DoCoMo Drive Net service, enhanced route guidance based on traffic condition as well as eco-minded route guidance, weather data, areas information and so on.
