RIM BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Stands Out in the MWC 2011 Crowd

Further to bringing you our hands-on video of the much-talked about BlackBerry PlayBook tablet from RIM, we couldn’t resist the temptation of clicking a few pictures of the device for you. The device posed for us in different angles, making us click away continuously
As we had already told you, the RIM BlackBerry PlayBook tablet isn’t some device you could afford to ignore. We couldn’t either, and the photographs we have posted for you here explain just that.
Ever since the tablet was showcased at the CES 2011 a month ago, we have been fascinated with the device. When the unveiling happened at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we just were spurred by the intensity of an urge to play with it. And, we did to our heart’s content.

Among the many BlackBerry devices that were on show at the MWC counter, this particular PlayBook tablet stood out. The unique sleekness in the otherwise bland tablet design and the specs we were exposed did indeed prompt a decision to buy one as soon as it arrives.
The only issue we had – as was explained in our post that brought to you the hands on video experience – was that the QNX operating system crashed more than once. May be, the company too has realized that and will make amends before the final roll out happens. Otherwise, all aspects have been perfect to the core.
To add to the performance, the PlayBook’s multi-tasking abilities, amazing user interface and the colors that adorn the tablet’s exterior all have been quite a lure.
Though you already know what the device holds under the hood, here’s a refresher on those prominent ones:

  • 7-inch screen
  • 1GHz Dual Core Processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • LCD multitouch capacitive display
  • microUSB
  • micro HDMI
  • DLNA connectivity
  • WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR

When it rolls out, the PlayBook models would sport price tags that start from $500. We guess it would be the WiFi only models that will be available off-contract for $499.99. With regard to launch date, we would like to expect the device around April 24th this year.
