Lady Gaga x Polaroid – Grey Label

Neglected as if it had the coodies, for a while, no one wanted to touch the Polaroid brand, not even with a 10-foot pole. The once storied marquee of American ingenuity and entrepreneurship, the present day Polaroid is just a mere shadow of its former self. In need of revitalization, Polaroid’s current holding company hired an unlikely creative type early last year, Lady Gaga. As a muse for Polaroid’s new Grey Label, the Duchess of Pop Culture worked closely with Ammunition, San Francisco-base design firm founded by Robert Brunner. The resulting collection debuted yesterday at CES with the GL20 Camera Glasses as the headliner. Embedded with camera and LCD displays, the futuristic shade allows wearer to upload their perspective instantaneously, something Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters will love. As a 5-ounce photo printer the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer will with most mobile phones via Bluetooth and majority of digital cameras, Windows PCs and Macs via USB. Its zero-ink ZINK Technology will replicate the tactile experience of Polaroid film without the hassle. Finally, the GL30 Instant Digital Camera. With a streamlined form factors, the ability to display and “develop” images, its something all photo buffs been waiting for. The Polaroid Grey Label with Lady Gaga, set to launch later this year with the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer first in May 2011.
