The currently available Around View Monitor System for vehicles using screen display, has been designed to help the driver to steer the vehicle easily into a parking a space, using both the screen display as well as an audio buzzer in notifying its driver of moving objects around the vehicle, such as people. The system helps to complement the driver’s vision in such event as leaving parking space or entering into a junction or intersection with a poor visibility. In an effort to improve further the Around View Monitor system without adding an additional sensor, Nissan Motor has developed a Moving Object Detection (MOD) function in helping drivers by providing them with additional information when starting the car or driving at low speeds.
Around View Monitor was first launched in October of 2007 and was installed in Infiniti EX and FX since 2008. Company did not elaborate in their announcement exactly what is the supplemental information that MOD would provide in further insuring the safety of driver
