Panasonic Electric Works and Sanyo Electric announced the launch of “EVERLEDS Lithium-ion Solar Street Light. The new light is a solar light combining solar cells and lithium-ion batteries. The new light comes with Sanyo’s HIT solar cell, a single crystal hybrid type of solar cells with the highest class conversion efficiency in the industry. In addition to this it has a thin “integrated solar cells and storage unit using Sanyo’s lithium-ion batteries.
In the new product, electricity is produced from solar energy through high efficiency solar cells and then stored in the lithium-ion batteries which is attached to the back of the panel. The light can then be used to power the high effiency LED lights for about 15 hours during the night
