High-Tech Camera Helps Canoeists Go For Gold

Canoeists use cameras

Britain's best canoe coaches are hoping their top secret technological tricks will give them the cutting edge this weekend at the European Championships in Bratislava.

As well as having new, high-tech cameras to capture the action, the crew will be streaming the event live to a brand new performance analysis centre beside the course.
There they can plot charts and graphs of the athletes' descents in order to monitor their performances mid-competition.
The canoe slalom team have been leading the world in science and technology for the past decade and were the first to introduce video analysis to the sport.
But with other teams copying their tactics, Team GB have been pulling out the stops to stay ahead of the game.
The new gadgets have been kept under wraps, away from the prying eyes of fellow competitors but Sky News has been given a sneak preview.
