Pre-orders open next week
The Toshiba Thrive tablet has been announced - a device that appears to be exactly the same as the one that Pocket-lint has had its hands on several times now, and the one we were previously told went by the name of theToshiba Regza Tablet AT300.
Whatever the reason for the sudden change in moniker, the Honeycomb touting tablet is finally going on sale - which will be welcome news at Toshiba Towers after delays and the disaster that was Toshiba's first Android tablet launch; the Folio.
The Toshiba Thrive is a Android 3.1 machine with a 10.1-inch, 1280x800, display, powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip.
It comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB flavours and the slip resistant rubber back comes in five different colours - "Blue Moon, Raspberry Fusion, Lavender Bliss, Silvery Sky and Green Apple".
Back to the tech and the Thrive has a 5-megapixel camera at the rear and a 2-megapixel one up front. It's also got HDMI, SD, mini-USB, USB, IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Toshiba has also announced some accessories for the tablet including a HDMI multi-dock ($59.99), a standard dock ($39.99) and a portfolio case ($59.99).
The device itself is relatively cheap - $429.99 for the 8GB one, $50 more for the 16GB one and $579.99 for the 32GB version.
No UK prices as of yet, and no word as to whether we'll be using the Thrive name either.
