Development of Industry’s First Contactless Dual Finger Print Scanner by NEC

NEC has made an announcement on launch of word’s first contactless hybrid finger print scanner that is capable of simultaneously acquiring fingerprint and finger vein data. The newly developed HS100-10 makes it very difficult for imposter to deceive the authentication system. Furthermore, the new HS100-10 contactless sensor is robust against characteristics of fingers that are extremely dry or moist with great accuracy. In addition to this, the new HS100-10 through its USB interface allows its users to connect to a PC for logging purposes or for unlocking its screensaver in both a stand-alone environment and an ActiveDirectory® environment.
The new HS100-10 is compatible with major access management software, including IBM’s Tivoli® and Novell’s “Novell SecureLogin”.
