“Spin Harley” is a one off Harley-Davidson Cross Bones motorcycle which is painted by artist Damien Hirst of England. The stunning custom paint cruiser will be going up for auction on April 23rd forthe Los Angeles based charity Project Angel Food. The Hirst Harley will be part of Angel Art, an event and benefit auction celebrating the 20th anniversary of Project Angel Food. This event is taking place at the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles. There are Robert Downey Jr, Naomi Watts and Tobey Maguire as committee members.
The Project Angel Food provides more than 11,000 free meals for people homebound or disabled by HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses.
“Spin Harley” comes with Damien Hirst’s unusual method involves pouring paint over the individual parts of the bike as they spin on a platform, then the parts were assembled. It is known as force paint technique.
“Spin Harley” by Damien Hirst starts at $100,000 and could be potentially over millions. Last year a spin painting Hirst created for the Product Red charity sold for $1.8 million. The world auction record for a motorcycle is $520,000, for a 1915 Cyclone. As part of the Damien Hirst’s creation, winning bidder will also receive two unique helmets.
