Return to Castle Wolfenstein:
Wolfenstein 3D (the predecessor of Return to Castle Wolfenstein) is among the eldest and best first person shooter ever made. If you have been a lifelong gamer you understand how important Wolfenstein 3D was to the development of all future first person shooters. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, although not nearly as revolutionary as Wolfenstein 3D, is an awesome first person shooter. A must have for a hardcore gamer.
Age of Empires II, The Age of Kings:
In the height of Microsoft's greatness Age of Empires II was created. There are many reasons Age of Empires II is such an awesome game. It brings a player in initially with creative graphics and a fascinating tutorial (about William Wallace). The player continues to play because of the well thought-out user interface and strategy design. The final reason why this game is awesome is because of the interesting storyline of the campaign. With each campaign you will learn more and more about important historical figures such as Joan of Arc, Ghengis Kahn, and Montezuma. Play from a wide variety of civilizations to take on the computer or a friend.
Diablo II, Lord of Destruction:
When blizzard made Diablo II they made a game that millions of fans would play for years and years to come. A decade later and Diablo II is still one of the most popular online multiplayer games. In Diablo II the player chooses from seven different classes (Amazon, Necromancer, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, Druid and Assassin) which they will use to destroy the forces of evil. Diablo II is a must have for any fan of the role playing genre.
Deus Ex:
Deus Ex is a first person shooter/ RPG that has the best storyline I have ever encountered. It is game full of conspiracy and plot twists that parallel certain events and organizations of real life. You will begin as an bio-mechanical agent who works for a branch of the U.S. military. You will soon find yourself wondering who you can trust in such a dysfunctional society. The customization of weapons and skill points allows you to play this game however you like, from guns blazing to pure stealth.
Dungeon Keeper 2:
The best game ever made. Dungeon Keeper 2 is a RTS that involves some first person action. You begin with a few imps (your workers) and some gold. Expand your dungeon to create different rooms to attract different monster. Each monster can be individually trained (lvl 1-10) to become your elite warrior. Mine more gold, make your dungeon larger and conquer the enemy. One of the best aspects of this game is the possession spell which allows you to command a single creature through first person. In my opinion I think everyone should try this game out.
