Solar Buggy: Singapore Marina Bay Golf Course – Potential Reduce Of Carbon Dioxide Emissions By 280kg Annually!

Been to Singapore before? A lovely island with the Lion-mermaid statue that own a strategic geo-location between Indonesia’s Sumatra island and West Malaysia. And recently, owner of Marina Bay Golf Course has put a new remark in collaboration with Sanyo and Singapore Polytechnic to provide the first solar powered golf-cart in the region that was designed with rechargeable lead-acid battery that claims to have up to 5 years lifespan.

The solar powered golf-cart buggy has two solar panels on the roof top and each unit of the cart is capable to reduce up to 280kg carbon dioxide emissions annually.

You could expect to see the solar buggy in the trial period for three months in Singapore Marina Bay Golf Course. The solar panels on the rooftop of the solar buggy is capable of generating only 1.2kWh of power a day, which means the solar panels won’t be able to fully charge the battery.
But, it can reduce the time required for fully charging the battery at the charging bay from 5 to 3.5 hours.
