Cowon D3 Plenue Portable Media Player Officially Announced

Cowon has officially announced their latest Android based portable media player, the D3 Plenue. Though, while the player has been officially announced, we are still trying to work out some more information in terms of pricing and availability
That said, the Cowon D3 Plenue does have a rather nice set of specs that (assuming the price is right) could make it an attractive device. The specs begin with Android, in this case version 2.1. Moving on and we also find a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
The D3 will come in a variety of colors including black and/or purple and storage capacities to include 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. Plus, there is also a microSD card slot for further expansion. Other specs will include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, T-DMB TV tuner, FM Radio, an accelerometer, USB 2.0 and HDMI.
Another missing detail comes in the form of the Android Market and whether or not it will be included — out best guess — no. Still, that does not mean the D3 will be useless as it will come with a Twitter app as well as an ebook reader, photo album, dictionary and more. And lastly, as we have seen on Cowon devices in the past — the D3 comes with a wide variety of file format support including the ability to play full HD 1080p video files.
All said and done, the Cowon looks like an attractive device, though similar to other models we may or may not see this one roll-out to a worldwide audience and if that ends up being the case — the Samsung Galaxy Player that we mentioned here on TFTS yesterday may be the Android PMP worth waiting for.
