SONY ERICSON has taken to the stage at IFA 2011 and unveiled the latest Xperia branded handset. The model is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and it will arrive as an Android 2.3.4 running handset with support for the Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services.
In terms of the when and how much — so far those details are a bit on the light side. Sony Ericsson has stated that the Xperia Arc S would be available “globally in selected markets from Q4 2011.” In other words, we can expect to learn a bit more as the release date gets closer. And for the price, nothing yet.
That aside, lets discuss the specs. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S is going to arrive with features to include a 4.2 inch (854 x 480) Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor. Additional features include 320MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, aGPS, HDMI, DLNA and an 8.1 megapixel camera with an Exmor R for mobile image sensor.
The Xperia Arc S will come in a variety of colors to include pure white, midnight blue, misty silver, gloss black and sakura pink. In addition, the handset will ship with an 8GB microSD card included in the box. As for the size, the Xperia Arc S measures in at 125 x 63 x 8.7 mm and weighs in at 117 grams. And hardware features aside, Sony Ericsson is touting the Xperia Arc S as coming with support for the Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services which break down as follows;
