Mercedes-Benz Nimbus: Electric taxi for crowded cities of 2025

Eco Factor: Eco-friendly taxi concept powered by four electric motors.
The Mercedes-Benz Nimbus concept is a car taxi with an innovative layout, designed as a new visual and practical solution for the crowded cities in 2025. Conceptualized by Slavche Tanevski of Munich University of Applied Sciences, this green car is powered by four electric motors mounted in the hub, which are supported by lithium-ion batteries under the floor. This allowed placing the driver’s seat forward, while putting an extra row of seats.

A tribute to the world’s first motorized taxi Victoria, built by Daimler in 1897, the Nimbus is designed to perfectly fit into the ancient architecture of European cities. The passenger space can accommodate up to five people or three with luggage. It also features a large glass area that not only lets in ample of light, but also offers a mesmerizing view of the scenery.
The driver seat is position right in the center to give him excellent visibility due to the absence of front struts and a glass dome. In addition, an element over the driver’s head performs the aerodynamic and protective function, as well as visually separates the passenger space from his workplace. Part of a project completed during an internship at Mercedes Exterior Design Studio, the Nimbus certainly has a retro feel to it.
