You've been waiting for it for a long time, and now it has finally become a reality. Sony has announced that starting Monday, October 18th, you'll be able to instantly watch Netflix movies and TV shows without inserting an instant streaming disc into your console. Aside from the elimination of the disc, a new user interface has also been introduced, bringing a much richer and faster browsing experience, and content search directly on the device, not to mention dramatic improvements on how fast playback starts. Users will also be able to instantly watch some movies and TV shows in 1080i high definition, and also enjoy Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound, not to mention viewing an increasing portion of our content library with subtitles.
