Tata Docomo in association with a leading telecom equipment manufacturer Alcatel, today announced the launch of their first co-branded GSM Mobile Phone in India named ‘One-Touch-Net-Phone’ which features full QWERTY keypad and offers one-touch access to Tata Docomo’s ‘Dive-in’ portal and host of Yahoo! services.
To be available in White/Lavender and Black/Silver colors the new Tata Docomo and Alcatel co-branded GSM mobile phone features a full QWERTY keypad and a large optical trackball and includes 80MB of internal memory and supports microSD memory card for expandable memory.
It also features 2.0 megapixel camera with video recording capability, integrated FM radio with RDS, MP3 media player and stereo Bluetooth v2.1+A2DP wireless connectivity option. The handset also features WAP / xHTML 2.0 for internet access but does not appear to includes GRPS, EDGE or WiFi connectivity.
Though no details are available on its screen size but judging from its price and the similar style QWERTY phones currently available in market it seems to have 2.0-inch or 2.4-inch QVGA display with at least 256K color resolution.
The Tata Docomo and Alcatel co-branded GSM mobile phone features two dedicated buttons to launch one-touch access to Tata Docomo’s ‘Dive-in’ portal and Yahoo! services.
The ‘One-Touch-Net-Phone’ handset comes pre-loaded with host of Yahoo services integrated in the handset that includes Yahoo mail, Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Contacts, Yahoo calendar, Yahoo Homepage, Yahoo Social Pulse, Flickr and Yahoo search with voice.The dedicated button to access Tata Docomo portal in the Tata Docomo and Alcatel co-branded GSM mobile phone allows access via WAP that includes services like My Songs, Call me Tune, Buddy Chat, Mytalkies, Astro Portal, Funzone, Song Book and few more.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of the first Tata Docomo co-branded device–the ‘OneTouch Net’, which is a Tata Docomo – Yahoo!-Alcatel phone,” said Deepak Gulati, Tata Teleservices President of GSM and 3G. The Tata Docomo and Alcatel co-branded GSM mobile phone – ‘One-Touch-Net-Phone’ – would be available for Rs. 5,499 and includes lifetime FREE access to Yahoo Mail and Yahoo IM.
