For initial pricing, a ticket is priced for USD200,000.-, for enjoying up to 2.5 hour of flight in the SpaceShipTwo spacecraft. And believe it or not, the first two ‘virgin’ seats for tourists have been booked and paid for GBP250,000.- for the first seat, while the second seat is priced at GBP98,000.-
Our customers will get to fly in a real rocket, wearing a real spacesuit and will undertake an authentic space mission just like the early Astronauts did in the 1960s. The passengers will enjoy the curvature of the earth from the blacky outer space, and will likely to feel weightless for a few minutes.
You will need to patiently await a series of no man trials conducted in November this year for the 20ft Launch Escape System, this is to test out the rescue pod capsules that will separates from the rocket once the spacecraft fails. Expect the manned launch test next year for using a 70ft Starchaser 4 off the ground in Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, UK.
Predictably, there will be stiff competition in the future for space tourism, and the pioneer would likely to be the one going to enjoy the sweetest share of the ‘virgin’ market, getting the broadest market share with fabulous profit margin.
