TV host Gabby Logan on why supporting Breast Cancer Care is so important

TODAY'S special pink edition of Woman highlights the 15th Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Organised by the charity Breast Cancer Care, the aim is to make people aware of the signs and symptoms and raise money to help support people affected by the illness.
Every year in Britain 46,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer. It kills more than 12,500 annually but is one of the most curable forms of cancer if detected early.
Gabby Logan is one of those taking part in fundraising events across the country. Tomorrow night she'll host a dinner and charity fashion show in London where the models are all survivors of breast cancer.
Last week, the Scottish arm of the charity held their own fashion show with our sister title the Sunday Mail, which raised £125,000.
Gabby, who's married to former Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan, is certain her event will be a similar success.
The BBC Radio 5Live presenter previously did a triathlon for Breast Cancer Care but this is her first time hosting what will be a big glitzy night of support and celebration.
She said: "I try and do one big event in the month of October because it's the big awareness month for them. It's a massive killer, a disease that affects so many women, so it's important to show support."
Putting on a glamorous dress and joining in the night's atmosphere of optimism and fun is a more enjoyable way to raise money than the gruelling triathlon she completed last summer.
Gabby, 37, has been working six-day weeks and with five-year-old twins to look after, isn't in a rush to take part in a similar challenge anytime soon.
She added: "I love committing myself but I just don't have time just now. For triathlons and marathons you need to train hard and that's difficult to fit in with two small children. I'd never say never again but there's nothing on the horizon at the moment."
Gabby and Kenny had been trying for a family for several years before their twins, Reuben and Lois, were born after IVF treatment, and it's clear the children are a source of huge joy to them.
Even the stress of being a working mum, rushing from outside broadcasts or her daily show on Radio 5, to take the children to playdates and help with their homework, is something Gabby knows she'll miss when they're older.
"They're very funny, it's a brilliant age," said Gabby. "They've got all kinds of questions, the world is a great big mystery to be unravelled. They want to tell you their opinions on things and they're just really good company. You don't have to entertain them all the time, they entertain you.
"It's such a short period of time, you've got to make the most of it. We've been married 10 years and in another 10 they'll be getting ready to leave home and go off to college.
"I say to Kenny, 'In 12 years time it'll be so quiet.'"
Despite her busy schedule, one thing she did make sure she had time for was the start of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing on Friday night. In 2007 she and Kenny both took part in the BBC1 dance competition, with separate professional dance partners.
This year Gabby's former dance partner James Jordan is coupled with Pamela Stephenson, wife of Billy Connolly. Kenny's partner in the show was Ola Jordan, James's wife.
Gabby said: "I thought it was the best start to a Strictly series for a few years. I think it's going to be a great series.
Kenny speaks to James Jordan more than I do because he went on the Strictly tour with him and Ola, so we're in touch with them quite regularly. James will fill us in on the gossip which is always handy."
