Great news from Gary Twohig, General Manager of Samsung Ireland, just came to our ears. He announced the launch of a 10-inch slate which is scheduled for the 1st half of 2011. All we can do is hope that he is talking about a world launch and not just a local product.
Among other technical details of the presumed Tab there is an indication that it will have V8 JavaScript engine, and if we think a little this is the 1st sign of Froyo on it. But we don’t think that this Android version will be on it because by then it will be outdated for sure, so probably Android 3.X will be the OS. This in fact could be the reason why this tablet didn’t launch sooner: they are just waiting for a better OS platform.
Rumors are spreading that this is not an official declaration of Twohig. Well even so that doesn’t say that Samsung are not preparing different sizes Tabs launches. It is a known fact that they will try the market with different sizes slates and see which one will sell better.
More products, more money they may think.
