Murata Manufacturing has introduced its 2nd generation WirelessHD® (WiHD), a complete embedded solution for high definition audio visual (HD-AV) electronics devices, including Plasma Displays, LCD-TV, Projection DTV, AV Receiver as well as Blu-ray player, to name a few. The new device is in compliance with wireless video-area network (WVAN). The newly developed WHDM-T005/R006 WiHD comes in a compact aluminum case for efficient heat dissipation and EMI suppression, which can easily be embedded in low-profile AV devices.
The new WHDM-T005/R006 WiHD allows the HD/AV electronic devices to create, join or even leave WVAN automatically. The new device is equipped with a 60GHz array antenna and the OmniLink 60TM beam maintaining a set of 4.0Gbps and three 10.0 Mbps links, enabling uncompressed real-time communication of 1080p/60Hz or 3D video with 32-192 kHz audio and back-channel audio. The new WHDM-T005/R006 WiHD comes in small form factor of 121.9mm (L) X 23.5mm (W) X 8.2mm (H), operating in a 12V single power supply and it comes with an HDMI port for its video interface. The new WHDM-T005/R006 WiHD comes with pre-programmed embedded DTCP and HDCP keys ensuring a highest level of content protection. Additionally, for ease of mounting, Murata is developing a split type module consisting of a RF board and a network processor board interconnected with a flexible cable assembly, designed for laptop PCs.
