Disney Mobile, a Walt Disney Company-operated MVNO on SoftBank that launched in March 2008 (after its original incarnation on Sprint ceased operations three months earlier), just announced that its formerly clamshell-saturated handset line is being joined by the company’s first smartphone, to go on sale in February. They’ll announce more details at the end of this month, but the two low-res images they’ve released suggests it’ll be a rebranding or slight redesign of Sharp’s 003SH, the 3.8-inch parallax 3D 9.6MPx camera Android 2.2 phone. Users will get a *@disney.ne.jp MMS address and original home screens, apps, widgets, and emoticons. Design cases will also be included, from a choice out of six designs, on a first-come-first-serve basis.
