Cri-Cri Is One Of The Smallest Airplane Ever Build And It’s Powered By Solar Energy

Since the beginning of mankind people had the desire to fly. Cri-Cri will help you reach the sky but it has some conditions: no luggage and no fuel on board. All the power generated is in fact solar energy transformed in electricity.
There are some disadvantages to this plane. It will fly only for about 15 minute so take your mind from crossing any sea in it. But if you think a little and see the fact that is the smallest airplane and take in balance that it’s fully electrical you will admire this piece of engineering.

It’s made from a lightweight composite structure. This fact makes the plane be very light leaving room for batteries and other stuff. The speed is said to be around 110km/h but its aerodynamic lets it go up to 250km/h.
Jean Botti, EADS’s Chief Technical Officer had this to say: “The Cri-Cri is a low-cost test bed for system integration of electrical technologies in support of projects like our hybrid propulsion concept for helicopters,”
