UK Developing World’s Biggest Wind Farm For $1.2 Billion

Earlier on we spooked about eco energy and how Germany, an European Union country made important investments into it. Another country from Europe fallows the same rout only this time the source of the energy is the wind.
British homes are powered from wind turbines situated on the sea surface. BBC reporters have made a trip to them and needles to say they were impressed. The wind turbines are “half times the height of Nelson’s Column” and the full scale of the project makes you feel very small. In fact for now they are considered the largest in the world and the energy generated from them will power 240,000 homes (half of the Kent country).

All this is in fact part of the UK’s big plan to reach an impressive 20% wind energy consumption. The overall cost is $1.2 billion.
There are also critics about the investment. Many say that this type of energy is very expensive to make and furthermore it’s at the mercy of the weather: no wind, no energy. We would like to see from the specialists a comparison between wind energy and solar one.
Or maybe the combination of the two would be the great solution if you put a little thinking into it: no sun, most of the time means a bad weather with winds and vice versa.
