Apple iPad 2 Next-gen Tablet Likely to Launch by 2010-end

Rumors have begun doing the rounds about Apple’s second-generation iPad, and  it is going to be available by the end of this year. Earlier rumors had suggested that it will only be launched sometime around April 2011.

The iPad had started sales in the US in April, so an April launch for the second-gen iPad was strongly expected.
Apple is said to be already testing an iPad with FaceTime support. The second iPad would of course include front and back facing cameras allowing FaceTime to be used.
Ever since the iPad was unveiled last January, there were criticisms being raised because of the  lack of a proper camera and webcam. There are also expectations of an increase in RAM from 256 MB to 512 MB and perhaps a display with a higher resolution.
There are also rumors about the first generation model getting an external camera for FaceTime calls, which might be essential to keep first generation iPad users happy with their gadget being replaced by a new model.
There is also a possibility that Apple might launch the rumored 7-inch iPad model in the coming months and release the next-generation 9.7 inch model only in April 2011.
But if ever we see the second iPad this year, a lot of Apple rivals can expect a severe blow and chances are that they would be looking to tide over such a situation.
