Early HTC Merge / Lexikon Review Shows Good Benchmark Results

The HTC Merge hasn’t been officially unveiled by Verizon, however, we do know that this is the Big Red’s version of the T-Mobile G2 aka HTC Desire Z. The smartphone has fallen into the hands of the Android Central guys who took the HTC Merge aka HTC Lexikon for a spin and also benchmarked the hell out of the 800MHz processor.

They say that the 800MHz processor scored some pretty impressive results during the benchmarks and they wanted to let everyone know that the number of megahertz’ is not that important. The HTC Merge also features a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, Android 2.2 Froyo, 2GB built-in memory, 512MB RAM, HTC Sense UI, and Bing app for searching.
It’s weird that the HTC Merge comes packed with the Sense UI considering the fact that the T-Mobile G2 won’t feature HTC’s proprietary UI. Android Central says that the name of the HTC Merge might be changed when the phone becomes available. And no, it might not be Lexikon after all
