More information has recently come available for those itching to learn more about the upcoming Google TV. The goodies come by way of a fancy (and shiny) new Google TV website which is highlighting just what we can expect in terms of features, apps, remotes and more.

Granted, some of this has been seen before. After all Google unveiled and announced some of the information way back during Google I/O. That said, I am sure there are likely some who may not have been paying attention, or some that simply need a refresher. In any case, the new Google TV site seems like it should take care of those needs.
First things first, the site can be found by clicking here, or by pointing your browser to www.google.com/tv. And I think I am fairly safe in saying that the apps are going to play a big part. With that, the good news is that, according to Google, they have been “overwhelmed by interest from partners on how they can use the Google TV platform to personalize, monetize and distribute their content in new ways.”
Some of the television related apps that were noted as coming include Turner Broadcasting which includes TBS, TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim as well as CNBC Real-Time, NBA Game Time and HBO Go. Other apps that were mentioned include music from Napster, Pandora and VEVO as well as news from The New York Times and USA Today. Plus, there are online video sites to include blip.tv, social networking courtesy of Twitter and movies by way of Amazon Video On Demand. Of course, who can forget the standard of Netflix.
Personally, given the right price I could see many people making the purchase just for Netflix. I know I would be in that bunch. And then just take everything else that they may like as a bonus. And while Pandora and Napster is nice, I am still hoping to see something come from Slacker.
Other goodies included on the Google TV site is Search, Web, Picture in Picture, enhanced DVR options (with Dish Network), easy setup and remote control that comes by way of your phone and your voice. Now that sounds cool, sitting back on the couch and telling your television what to do without the use of your hands
