HTC has offered up the latest in terms of the Desire and Legend smartphones. Enter the “Brilliant White” Desire and the “Phantom Black” Legend. And while nice looking, they are new models only in terms of exterior coloring.

After all, people are still up in arms about the lack of availability in terms of the white iPhone 4. And no, before we get off track, there is nothing new in terms of the white iPhone. So getting back on topic here. The newly colored Desire and Legend are not destined for a worldwide roll-out. Instead they have been announced for Europe and are expected to be available sometime this month, though as of now a specific date has not been announced.
“HTC Desire is also now available in brilliant white for the first time, providing a stunning new look for the phone which has become popular for the richness and quality of its visual and multimedia experience.”Otherwise, the handsets will retain the same features as before. That means you can expect to find a 3.7 inch (480 x 800) WVGA touchscreen display along with Android 2.1, HTC’s Sense user interface, 1GHz processor, 512MB ROM, 576MB RAM, microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS and 1400 mAh battery on the Desire.
“The uniquely-designed and iconic HTC Legend will be available with a phantom black finish.”Moving over to the Legend and we find goodies to include a 3.2 inch (320 x 480) HVGA touchscreen display, 600MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 384MB ROM, microSD card slot, microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS and 1300 mAh battery.
