Launch of Cloud-Based Services with Introduction of VIERA Tablet by Panasonic

With an Eye to launch its cloud service business, Panasonic has made a first move by introducing its VIERA Tablet, a terminal with a small touch screen LCD display to provide creative functionality and ease of use in conjunction with Panasonic’s VIERA digital televisions. The table’s main goal is to deliver new services not yet possible through internet TV, by creating a whole new viewing experience. The VIERA Table comes in various sizes from four to ten inches, offering long hours of operation and shock resistant body, with an intuitive navigation interface for easy use of cloud services. The introduction of the table is a stepping stone for Panasonic with an aim to forming alliances with major companies in various industries, to offer the services to its users. Through the use of table the user can enjoy IPTV services such as VIERA Connect online video-on-demand and other interactive services.
Furthermore, the table can be used as a Visual Remote Control to operate TV for such function as switching channels, or in can be used as a sub-screen for viewing sports scenes from different angles. The VIERA Tables also would allow the user to use SNS while watching TV as well as using it for ordering suggested items related to the TV contents via shopping on the tablet.
