Its been a little while since we last heard of the Lumigon T1 smartphone. That said, it seems like the whole vaporware idea may need to be tossed out because Lumigon has taken to their official Facebook page and offered up a US release date as well as some specs.
Lumgion T1 S1 Smartphones

First things first, the release date is scheduled for October 20th, and for those brave enough — the Lumigon T1 will go up for pre-order one month earlier on September 20th. Personally, given the quite we have seen over the past few months, I would feel better waiting till these were actually shipping. Then again, that determination may be best left till we see the price tag.
That aside though, here is what we have to look for in terms of specs. The T1 will feature a 3.2 inch capacitive TFT touchscreen display, 1GHz Freescale i.MX51 processor, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5 megapixel camera with flash, 720p video out via mini HDMI, an accelerometer, FM receiver, FM transmitter and Android 2.1.
Of course, in all fairness on the ‘quite’ aspect, Lumigon did originally state that the T1 would be available in early Q2 2010. So yes, they are behind, but I guess that happens often enough in the mobile world that we should not criticize them all that much. After all, they are bringing a “uniquely Scandinavian” design to the US. In addition, we may still have the Lumigon S1 and the Lumigon E1 coming soon after. Going back to the last we heard, the S1 was also expected in Q2 and the E1 a more general “later in the year.”
As for the differences, the T1 will be a touchscreen only device while the S1 will be sporting a T9 style keyboard that is revealed by way of a portrait slider.
Now if they could just clue us in on some pricing. But in the meantime, Lumigon was nice enough to post a few screenshots from their build. All things considered, I would like to see more, these are nice looking, albeit a little on the dark side.
