Panasonic Showcases its Latest Hair Washing ROBOT

As part of Panasonic’s on going effort in research and development of robots that will assists individuals both of those who receive and give health care and welfare services, Panasonic has developed a hair-washing robot. The robot utilizes Panasonic’s robot hand technology. The robot using its 16 fingers (3 hands and a finger) can wash and rinse the shampoo bubbles with the dexterity of human fingers.
The robot’s two arms is capable of scanning the head 3-dimensionally as they move and measuring, helping robot to remember the shape of the head of the individual, for applying just the right amount of pressure during the shampooing as well as massaging. Each arm has three motors which independently control swing, press and massage motions in conjunction with power detection sensors.
