Moleskine gets into touch devices with iPad, iPhone covers

Veteran Italian paper notebook maker Moleskine has dipped into accessories for more than e-readers for the first time with two special cases. The Tablet Cover is meant for the iPad and potentially other same-sized tablets to both protect them while filling in all the elements of a traditional Moleskine book. It uses the same materials and signature elastic band as the outside and even includes a notepad for handwritten notes, but a suede lining is new and helps prevent scratches.
A matching Phone Cover is more specifically tailored to the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS and has all the same features as the tablet cover scaled to the smaller size. The designer sees it as ideal for those who regularly use Bluetooth peripherals or plug in an external sound source.

Moleskine isn't ready to commit to a price for either case but is taking demand sign-ups today. Amazon current lists both covers as being ready on November 18, though this isn't a confirmed date.
