I love the idea of Panasonic Toughbooks. It’s great to know that, out there, there’s a laptop that can take a severe beating and yet still come back swinging. Most laptops, you spill a cup of coffee on the keyboard, it’s “hello, scrapheap”. But the Panasonic Toughbook–and specifically, the new Panasonic Toughbook CF-C1–packs plenty of that namesake toughness into each unit.

The Panasonic Toughbook carries a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 CPU, several different options on hard drive size, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Plus, it’s been tested against drops of about 2.5 feet (76 centimeters), spillproof keyboard, and a touchscreen that will work even if the user is wearing gloves. Plus, it supports gestures like pinch for zooming and rolling for rotation.
You can actually get one of these right now over in Great Britain for around $2700 US (1,709 pounds sterling), and if you need it rugged, a Toughbook is a great place to start looking.
