Microsoft Investing In Software Layer For Windows 7 Base Tablets

Well you have to love Windows 7 from Microsoft and its developing into the tablet sector. But the producers are having a little trouble adjusting the OS to strictly finger input. The solution so far was simple for Microsoft: let people who develop on the platform create their one interface. For this remember HP with TouchSmart.
Things are changing it appears and they intend to create their own layer. It could be based on the Media Center feature. Some declaration apparently sounded like this: “what you’ll see over the course of the next year is us doing more and more work with our hardware partners creating hardware-software optimizations with Windows 7 and with Windows 7 Media Center [...].”.
It better happen before Windows 8 is out in 2012.
For now there is indication the Microsoft is optimizing its product for slates. The next big date in the producer’s agenda is October 11 where we could see an official Microsoft slate announcement. Keep your fingers crossed.
