A few days ago, we told you about the rumored GeForce GTS 450 card from NVIDIA. Rumor has it that that card would compete against the cards in AMD’s Radeon HD 5700 series. The rumors were unconfirmed at the time, but now they’re “sort of” confirmed by a Bulgarian retailer who has listed the card, along with matching artwork and specs on their website.
GeForce GTS 450
iskampc.com (the Bulgarian site in question) has since removed the listing, which (we feel) adds credibility to the alleged card since stories of NVIDIA’s corporate wrath are well known. As for the card itself, the specs listed on the site match up with what we reported earlier.
Specs are:
  • 783MHz graphics core speed
  • 1566MHz shader core speed
  • 1GB VRAM, clocked at 900MHz
  • 192 CUDA cores
  • 128-bit memory interface
  • 125W power consumption
Website Fudzilla reports that the 125W is a bit high on the power consumption when compared to the GTS 450′s alleged rivals, the Radeon 5750 and 5770. That might make the card lose some sales on the performance-per-watt factor.
As for the rest of the card, it looks pretty good for a midrange card. If it is going to compete against the AMD 5700 cards, expect it to start at about $120.
